J Dilla Remembered

Today mark's what would have been the 37th birthday of one of Hip Hop's most influential and beloved producers.  James Yancy, aka J Dilla aka Jay Dee, was born on February 7th 1974 and left us on February 10th 2006.  Dilla made a name for himself producing for some of Hip Hop's greatest (A Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes, The Pharcyde, Slum Village) and in doing so became one of the greatest himself.   He was also an accomplished MC in his own right with releases such as Fantastic Vol. 2, Welcome 2 Detroit, and the Madlib collaboration Champion Sound.  This documentary shows Dilla stellar career as told by those that knew him the best.  Dilla definitely change Hip Hop, and for that he will always be remembered.

RIP DILLA!
