BEST THINGS OF 2010

Keith Richards "Life" (Little, Brown & Company) is my favorite read this year. Like sitting in a room with Keef telling stories - so great.

Iggy Pop and James Williamson "Kill City Restored, Remixed, Remastered" (Bomp!) is hands down the best re-issue this year. Kudos to Bomp for polishing this lost classic up - the new sound puts this release up there with Iggy's best work...

OFF! "Black Thoughts" on The First Four EPs album (Vice) is my favorite song of the year. I drive 5 mph faster when it comes up on the 'pod. Just raging - might be the best punk album of this decade.

Adventure Time with Finn and Jake (Cartoon Network) is amazing. It's hilarious, sweet, heartfelt, and innocent - has killer writing and fantastic characters. Best thing on TV right now...

Ornette Coleman live at Royce Hall, UCLA was brilliant. Flawless. Genius. Ornette was in top form - bringing the skronk in all its wild glory. Denardo was wailing on the drums like only he can, and the two bassists (three once Flea showed up!) were on point. Just tight tight tight. Nothing like being blown away by one of your heroes!

Grinderman live at the Riviera, Chicago was hands down the most visceral live performance I had seen all year. Warren Ellis going off. Nick Cave going off. The Riviera going off. See them if you have the chance. (Honorable mention goes to We Were Promised Jetpacks who came off like a Scottish Fugazi at SXSW)...

Lakers/Celtics NBA Finals Game 7 was the sports highlight of my life. To be down by 13 and come back for the win against the hated Celtics - nothing sweeter in all the world...

Littlerock by Mike Ott (Small Form Films) was such a great experience. It was my favorite project this year by far and enabled me to reconnect with my good friend Mike. A great, great film that deserves all the accolades its gotten and more. Please see it if you get the chance!!

Vodka Dirty Martini at Spare Room in the Roosevelt Hotel, Hollywood CA was the best drink I had all year. Belvedere vodka, crisp, with just enough briney dirty goodness, completely delicious and three olives! I'll be back for you!

My family is the best family in the world and takes the number 1 spot as the best thing of 2010. My wife is amazing, my kid rules. I'm super stoked that I get to hang out with these rad people every day!

BEST OF 2010 part 1

It's our favorite time of year, no not the holidays - it's BEST OF THE YEAR list time! So without further adieu here is part 1 of the HIGH BIAS FAVORITES OF 2010 LISTS!!!
