Last Friday, La Femme were playing at Bardot. The French band of not even twentysomething hailing from Biarritz (French surf capital) is on a west coast tour for a few weeks.
Despite the general mood of post thanksgiving coma in town, Bardot's patio was buzzing and those who ventured out for the FTW night were not disappointed by their performance.
Halfway between New Order and surf guitars, a burst of raw energy, La Femme managed to draw the audience's attention and it wasn't long before they won them over. A cool cocktail of youth, nonchalance and catchy songs, they made it worth getting off the couch.
Tonight they're playing at Nomerica, a cool party based on foreign bands and we're going!
